Returns

We want you to be confident when you shop with us. This policy explains when you can return items, how to do it, and how to safely dispose of medicines you no longer need. If you have any questions, please contact us at hello@blackrockmeds.com.

1. Medicines and prescription items

For patient safety and in line with Irish pharmacy law, medicines cannot be returned, exchanged, or refunded once they have been dispatched or supplied. This includes:

  • Prescription-only medicines (POMs);
  • Pharmacy-only medicines and pharmacist-supervised products;
  • Over-the-counter medicines that have left our pharmacy.

Once a medicine has been dispensed and sent to you, it cannot be resold or reused. This protects every patient and ensures the integrity of medicines supplied from our pharmacy.

2. Non-medicinal items

Non-medicinal items — such as skincare, vitamins, supplements, and general healthcare products — can be returned under the 14-day right of withdrawal set out in the EU Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU.

To qualify for a return, the item must be:

  • Unused and unopened;
  • In its original packaging, with any seals or labels intact;
  • Returned within 14 days of receipt.

We reserve the right to refuse a return if the item shows signs of use, damage, or is not returned in its original condition.

3. Defective or incorrect items

If an item arrives faulty, damaged, or is not what you ordered, you are entitled to a full remedy — either a replacement or a refund — regardless of whether the item is a medicine or a non-medicinal product.

Please contact us at hello@blackrockmeds.com within 48 hours of receiving your order, with your order number and a photo of the item and packaging if it is damaged or incorrect. We will arrange the appropriate remedy at no cost to you.

4. How to initiate a return

To start a return, email us at hello@blackrockmeds.com with:

  • Your order number;
  • The item(s) you want to return;
  • The reason for the return.

We will review your request and confirm whether the item is eligible. If it is, we will provide instructions on how to return it. Do not return medicines to us unless we have specifically asked you to do so.

5. Refund timeline

Refunds for eligible non-medicinal returns will be processed within 14 days of us receiving the returned item. We will issue the refund to the original payment method used for the order. Depending on your payment provider, it may take a few additional days for the refund to appear in your account.

6. Medicines disposal

Unwanted, expired, or unused medicines should never be thrown in household waste or poured down the sink or toilet. They can harm people, animals, and the environment.

Instead, return them to any community pharmacy for safe disposal under the DUMP (Dispose of Unused Medicines Properly) scheme. This is free, confidential, and the safest way to get rid of medicines you no longer need. You do not need to return them to the pharmacy that originally supplied them.
